Shu Uemura Murakami Collection

The limited edition Shu Uemura Murakami collection is easily spotted thanks to the cute anime designs of Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. Admittedly, I am not one for cutesy packaging (I prefer simple black and white) but this collection looks so joyful and happy that it’s hard not to adore it.

Shu Uemura Murakami Collection review and swatches

Shu Uemura Murakami Collection:

Shu Uemura Murakami Cosmic Black Premium Curler:

Shu Uemura eyelash curlers are some of the best of the best. A lot of my favourite international makeup artists/YouTube gurus like Lisa Eldridge swear by them and after using them for myself, I can see why. I gave my lashes a quick curl, applied mascara and definitely saw a difference in the curl of my lashes. I even had a friend remark that she thought I had on false lashes on. I’ll definitely be using these on a daily basis. Purchase here.

Shu Uemura Murakami Anti-Oxi+ Cleansing Oil:

I’ve used this fix times so far after nights of heavy makeup application and it quickly melted my makeup right off without any left over mascara residue. It’s very gentle to use and rinses off easily. Just a tip – don’t leave this in reach of kids. My little ones mistook it for bubble bath (that packaging) and I nearly lost it to their bath time. Purchase here.

Shu Uemura Murakami Rouge Unlimited Sheer Shine Lipstick in Rouge Bloom:

This lipstick packs a big punch colour while still remaining slightly on the sheer side. It’s very glossy and perfect for hot summer nights. Purchase here.

Shu Uemura Murakami Drawing Pencil:

This creamy matte drawing pencil is an earthy toned eyeliner but to be honest it’s not a shade I want near my eyes (they do your usual black, navy, etc). Instead I’ve been using this as a lip liner because it’s so creamy and such a great dark nude lip colour. Purchase here.

Shu Uemura Murakami Block Booster Primer:

I’ve used the pink version of this (this particular one is slightly beige toned) and I love it. It’s the most moisturising primer I’ve ever used and I like the fact that the primers in general come in different skin tones to boost skin radiance. Purchase here.

Shu Uemura Murakami UV Compact Case:

The limited edition case comes empty (you buy your face powder separately here). I’ve only used the powder once as I tend to stay away from powders (dry skin problems) but found it gave me a slight glow to the face so it’s not totally matte.

My favourites from the collection are the eyelash curlers, the cleansing oil and the primer. You can shop Shu Uemura at David Jones.
