Yesterday, @TheCoffeeDevotee and I headed down to Bib & Tucker for a late breakfast on a very overcast, humid day. The weather sucked but the good food made up for it.
I ordered the seasonal fruit platter that comes with a side of plain yoghurt and toasted granola ($17) along with a latte ($4) while my friend ordered the buttermilk & banana pancakes that is dressed with salted caramel, pecans and Tasmanian double cream ($18). Homemade banana bread with a side of passionfruit butter ($10) was ordered for the kids.
I loved my fruit platter – it was so fresh, beautifully presented and perfect for tackling the horribly humid weather. The buttermilk & banana pancakes was also a hit. The homemade banana bread was very fresh, warm and tasted delicious (I had a half a slice myself). My child refused to eat the passionfruit butter – I had a taste and found it incredibly sweet. I’m not a fan of super sweet tastes (it reminded me of sherbet) but my friend, who has a massive sweet tooth, loved it and remarked how good it was.
The service at Bib & Tucker was fast and friendly and the cafe has a very relaxed feel to it. I’m glad we got a table on the balcony as we had such a beautiful view of the beach to look at while we dined amongst the modern decor. The cafe has a very eclectic look to it they I really admired. everywhere you looked there was something interesting to visually check out.
Overall, I really enjoyed our quick cafe stop at Bib & Tucker and would definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again (it’s a good 40 minute drive from where I live).
Have you ever visited Bib & Tucker before?
